From VSSL outdoors, the VSSL flask is a flashlight designed to hold your booze! This is the most unique piece of gear that we’ve seen in a long time. Never seen anything like this anywhere. This seems like an intriguing concept.
How it works
This flask contains your beverage of choice plus a flashlight to help guide you in the dark. The compact for was created with portability, and not concealment in mind. It’s designed to be taken with you in your backcountry outdoor adventures, weighing in at one pound, 2 ounces.
Each VSSL unit is 9″ long by 2″ diameter.
What it contains
This flashlight/flask contains a dual mode (static and SOS) LED ‘flood’ beam lantern light, which illuminates a large area. Batteries are included (batteries are Energizer E90). It also includes two stainless steel collapsible shot glasses, an oil-filled compass designed to act as an end cap, and a bottle opener.
We doubt we’d take this flashlight in the backcountry, as weight saving becomes an issue and a headlamp is far more practical. Perhaps on shorter trips and hikes in? But on front country, and car camping, it’s appealing. It would also be great to have in the car on camping road trips.
Where to buy
If you’re interested, the flask is available for $72 at certain retailers. The company, VSSL, also makes all sorts of outdoor utility tools, such as things for first aid and other camp supplies.
